William W. Legleiter

William W. "Bill" Legleiter, age 85, of Liebenthal, passed away Sunday, March 6th at Hays Medical Center. He was born on November 11, 1925 in rural Liebenthal, KS. to Nick and Katie (Urban) Legleiter. He married Rita Giebler on November 27, 1946 in Catharine, KS.William was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was a farmer and stockman who was known to be a hard working man. He had served on the LaCrosse CO-OP Board and School Board and a 4-H leader in Liebenthal. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Liebenthal and a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus of Liebenthal member.He is survived by his wife, Rita Legleiter of Liebenthal; six sons, Jim and wife Cathy of Louisville, KY., Floyd and wife Joan of Denver, Norman and wife Lou Ann of LaCrosse, Earl and wife Leslie of Englewood, CO., Billy and wife Donna of Liebenthal and David of Liebenthal; two daughters, Mary Rose Pickle and husband Randy of Wichita and Joyce Kallenberger and husband Dan of Weatherby, MO. 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren also survive him. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Legleiter; great grandson, Colby McEntire; four brothers, Jake, Leonard, Albert and Bernard and four sisters, Ella Dreitz, Bertha Gross, Irene Herman, Albertine Herrman and Sr. Julia Legleiter.Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Liebenthal with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Liebenthal.Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M. to greet friends at the funeral home. Wednesday visitation will be at the church at 9:30 A.M. until service time. A parish vigil service will be at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday followed by a Liebenthal 3rd degree Knights of Columbus Rosary all at Brock's North Hill Chapel - 2509 Vine - Hays.Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Heritage Fund or St. Joseph Cemetery Fund.
