Wayne Harold Marshall, age 64, of Hays, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at Hays Medical Center. He was born October 2, 1947 to Harold Samuel "Sam" and Kathryn (Krizek) Marshall in Colby, Kansas. He graduated in 1965 from Rexford High School. He then went to NWKAVTS earning an Auto Body Degree. He married Linda A. Blume on July 10, 1968 in Burlington, Colorado.He was currently working as an Independent Courier for Henry Industries. He had a long career in the Auto Body Repair field including Herl Chevrolet in Goodland, Auto Body Instructor at NWKAVTS in Goodland, Owner-Operator of Wayne's Auto Collision Repair 1976 - 1990 and Body Shop Manager at Paul MacDonald Chevrolet until 1996. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. He served in Company A 704 Maintenance Battalion 4th Infantry Division. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, a life member of Hays VFW Post 9076 currently serving as District 9 Adjutant. He had previously been the Hays Post Commander and District 9 Commander. He enjoyed Model Railroading, Golfing, Gardening and his family.He is survived by his wife, Linda Marshall of Hays; two sons, Richard Marshall of Hastings, Nebraska and Jeff (Tara) Marshall of Hays; two grandsons, Spencer and Ethan Marshall of Hays; Father and Mother in laws, Dean and Erna Blume of Goodland; a brother in law, Roger (Melinda) Blume of Goodland as well as other family members and friends.His parents preceded him in death.Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hays. Burial will be in Mt. Allen Cemetery in Hays with military honors by the Hays and Stockton VFW Honor Guards.Visitation will be Monday 6 PM - 8 PM at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601 and Tuesday 12:30 PM until service time at the church.Memorials are suggested to Messiah Lutheran Church or VFW Ladies Auxiliary for special projects.
