Wanda Miller, a woman of unwavering faith and a dedicated educator, passed away on August 17, 2023, in Hays, Kansas. She was born on June 17, 1930, in Lincoln, Kansas, to Oscar Meier and Forona Kasiska. Wanda's life was a testament to her strong spirit, love for her community, and passion for learning.

A devout Catholic, Wanda found solace and strength in her faith throughout her life. She was a cherished member of St. Joseph's Parish in Hays, where her commitment to her beliefs shone brightly. Her spirituality guided her actions and interactions, leaving a positive impact on those fortunate enough to know her.

Wanda's dedication to the field of education was evident through her tireless service as a special education teacher for over 25 years, all within USD 489. Her genuine care for her students extended beyond the classroom, as she strived to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that allowed each individual to flourish. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering support left an indelible mark on countless lives.

Beyond her professional life, Wanda cultivated a rich tapestry of interests that showcased her vibrant personality. She possessed a keen talent for crocheting and knitting, crafting intricate pieces that brought joy to family and friends. Wanda's love for games led her to embrace activities such as bingo, where her enthusiasm was infectious and her laughter rang out warmly.

One of Wanda's cherished pastimes was indulging in the thrill of casinos, where she and her husband found joy in gambling and playing bingo. Their shared moments of excitement and camaraderie reflected the enduring bond they shared throughout their journey together.

Wanda Miller's legacy is one of faith, compassion, and a vibrant zest for life. She will be remembered by her loving family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her years of service and dedication. Survivors include her children: Dan, Charles, Stacie, Christine, Stephanie, and Laurie; her siblings: Gerald, Larry, Harold, and Evelyn, together with nine grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Wayne Francis Miller; son: Brian ‘Butch’; daughter: Mary; brothers: Marvin, Donald, Delbert, Steve, and Lyle; and a grandson: Jeremy Wasko.

A funeral service to celebrate Wanda's life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 AM with memorial visitation from 9:00 AM until service time at St Joseph’s Catholic Church – Hays. Inurnment will follow the services in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas, in care of the Funeral Home, reflecting Wanda's lifelong commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
