Obituary



Victor Patrick Lang Jr., age 77 of Hays, KS, died at Via Christi Sunday, June 21,2020 after a long illness. He was born on September 23, 1942 to Victor and Minnie Staab Lang in Hays, KS.

He graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City. He entered the Army reserves in 1963 and served until 1969 then worked as a volunteer Fireman and later became fire chief of Hays. He later owned Hays Fire Equipment Sales and Service until retirement.

He is survived by his fianc Mary Schoenberger, his three children David (Rhonda) Lang of Lansing, KS, Dana (Bruce) Timmons of St. Francis, KS, and Tommy Lang of Hays, KS., five grandchildren Brittney and Taylor Lang, Darris(Haley), Casey (Erin) and Connor Keller, and two future great grand children on the way, and one sister Cindy (Rich) Stillwagoner of Great Bend, KS. One niece Becky (Matt) Smith of Meridian, Idaho and one nephew Marc (Melinda) Stillwagoner of Mansfield, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Norma Buckler.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Nick Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at WaKeeney.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, Kansas 67601 with a combined rosary and parish vigil service at 7:00 pm.

Contributions are suggested to Hays Fire Department and/or Hays VFW.
