Obituary



Vernon L. Windholz, age 85, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society, Ellis. He was born October 20, 1934 in Ellis to Rudolph and Catherine (Beer) Windholz. He was a graduate of Ellis High School. He married Bernice Poto who preceded him in death.

Vernon was a cook most of his working life primarily at the Golden Ox for over twenty years. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea. Vernon was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Ellis VFW.

He is survived by a brother, Kenneth Windholz of Ellis; three sisters,Kathy Wolf of Ellis, Roseann Billinger of Hays and Goldie Dinkel of Ellis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Rinda Linn Windholz

Funeral Mass will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors courtesy of the Ellis VFW Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Wednesday 1:30 PM until service time at the church.
