Obituary
Steven Wasinger age 49, of Hays, Kansas died Sunday, September 12, 2021, at KU Medical Center Kansas City, Kansas.
He was born March 11, 1972, to Raymond J. "Ray" and Janice (Braun) Wasinger. He married Kerry L. (Terhune) on September 28, 2002, in Victoria, Kansas.
He was an accountant and IT specialist for Da Mar Resources Inc. for about ten years. He also worked for Stromgren Supports until they closed. He was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays. He grew up in Victoria and was a 1990 graduate of Victoria High School, and received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Fort Hays State University. Steven was an avid Syfy movie and Star Trek fan, enjoyed camping, watching his kids activities, and spending time with the family.
Survivors include his wife, Kerry Wasinger, of the home; his children, Kyle Wasinger and Emma Wasinger, both of the home; his mother, Janice Wasinger, Victoria, KS; his brother, David Wasinger, Victoria, KS; his sister, Melissa Mayers and husband, John, Hays, KS; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stephen and Susan (Wetherell) Terhune; Jamesport, MO; his brother-in-law, Michael Terhune and wife, Kim, Jamesport, MO; five nephews and nieces, Sadie and Rhett Wasinger; Madison, Jaycie Mayers, and one on the way; and Ella Terhune.
He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Mike and Georgine (Windholz) Wasinger; and Ben and Celestine (Dreiling) Braun.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 17, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 13th & Ash, Hays, Kansas with Father Rich Daise and Father James Moster OFM Cap. officiating. Burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas
A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday, and from 12:00 to 12:45 P.M. Friday, all at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.
The family suggests memorials to the childrens education made payable to: Kerry Wasinger in care of Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.
