Sonya Jo Williams

Sonya Jo "Sammi" Wickwar Williams, age 70 of Hays, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Hays Medical center. She was born April 4, 1943 in Goodland, KS to Ward William Wickwar and Shirley (Brinker) Wickwar Tarbet.

She was a longtime nurse at Lantern Park manor and Prairie Senior Living Complex in Colby and the Good Samaritan Society, Hays. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Crocheting, listening to music, bowling, cooking, and she was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Survivors include a son, Lance Williams and wife Barbara of Weatherford, OK; four daughters, Terri Fyfe and husband David of Sparta, WI, Connie Elias of Derby, KS, Cyndi Ford of Colby and Samantha Butler and husband Brian of Hays, KS; two brothers, Mark Wickwar and Dave Tarbet both of Ulysses, KS; a sister, Susan Smith of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Rachel Baker, Justin Fyfe, Brady, Amber and Dylan Williams, Brandon Thomas, Dara, Blake and Spencer Elias, Bailey Stupka, Shelby Klinger and Caelan Ford, Lily and Ian Butler as well as 12 great grandchildren, Mallory, Cohen, Carson, Cameron, Reni, Alex, Max, Axel, Brylea, Chloe, Alexis and Braelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Daniel Williams and a brother, John Wickwar.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Brocks North Hill Chapel ~ 2509 Vine ~ Hays, KS. 67601

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Options of Hays, which provides Domestic, and Sexual Violence Services or the Community Assistance Center Food Bank.
