Obituary
Signa Lea Heffel, age 85, of Hays, Kansas passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society, Hays. She was born November the 1st 1934 in Luray, KS to Lester and Waive (Glasgow) McKanna. On February 10, 1954 she married Eddie Heffel JR. He preceded her in death February 2, 2014.
Signa had worked as a teachers aide in Winfield, KS with pre-K students. She enjoyed travel with friends and family and crocheting.
She is survived by a son, Roger Heffel and wife Joyce of Hays; a daughter, Cynthia Heffel of Hays; grandchildren, Steven Stremel of Seattle, WA, Stacy Rogers and husband David of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Kelly Flaska and husband Gabe of Hays and Kayci Schumacher and husband Jeremiah of Hays; great grandchildren, Ben, Ella, Jack, Max, Oliver, Sam, and Claire Schumacher, Gavin and Karsen Flaska, Michael, Hannah, Lucy, Jude, Eleanor, Ari, Eddie and Vivian Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lowell McKanna and a twin sister, Sondra Cherry.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements in care of Brocks Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
Memorials are suggested to the Dreiling Schmidt Cancer Institute or the DeBakey Heart Institute in care of the funeral chapel.
