Shirley Smith

Shirley A. Smith, age 70 of Ellis, passed away on Sunday, October 11th, 2009 at Hays Medical Center. She was born on May 23, 1939 to Hubert Sr. and Elsie M. (Ambrosier) Smith.Shirley was employed at Travenol in Hays and also did home painting and remodeling. She was also a caregiver for her mother and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Hays Chapter. Several Nieces and Nephews survive her. Her Parents, a sister, Betty Jean Crisp and two brothers, Jack Smith and Hubert Smith Jr, preceded her in death.Graveside Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 13th at Mt Hope Cemetery, Ellis. Visitation will be today 7:00 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of the High Plains.
