Shirley Ann Meier

Shirley Ann Meier, age 80, of Hays passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 at Hays Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1935 in Crete, Nebraska to Clarence and Leona (Jacobs) Stejskal. She married James E. 'Jim' Meier Niovember 26, 1960 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hays. He preceded her in death on October 25, 2008.

Shirley worked for the State of Kansas Department of Social Welfare. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and she was an avid animal lover.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Memorial Mass will be 10:30 AM Friday, December 18, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with inurnment to follow in the church cemetery.

A rosary service will be 10 AM Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society in her memory.
