Obituary



Shirley Ann Gerhardt, age 83, of Wakeeney Kansas passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Trego County Lemke Long Term Care Center. She was born August 19, 1936 in Ellis, Kansas to Andrew Scheck and Thresia (Augustine) Scheck.

Shirley was a member of Daughters of Isabella and St. Marys church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting and mostly spending time with her grand-children and great grand-children. She opened her home to everyone and enjoyed cooking for everyone as well.

She is survived by her children, Robert Dale Gerhardt, Ellis, Ks; Lucy Fabrizius, Hays, Ks; her sisters Norma Brack, Ellis, Ks; and Edna Hejny of Ellis, Ks; five grand-children, James (Shari) Fabrizius; Joshua Fabrizius and Sheena Schneider; Amanda (Jason) Yunker ; Hannah Fabrizius, and Jeremiah Gerhardt; five great grand-children; Joseph, Jastin and Mason Yunker; Trevor and Liam Fabrizius.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Joseph, and son-in-law Kenneth Fabrizius, two brothers Leroy and Donald, and a sister, Barbara Kinderknecht.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Monday, February 17, 2020 at St. Marys church in Ellis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 pm-7 pm at Keithley Funeral Chapel in Ells, with a combined parish vigil and Daughters of Isabella rosary service at 6 PM.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Marys Church and/or St. Marys School.
