Sherry Ann Witthuhn

Sherry Ann Witthuhn, age 67, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at HaysMed. She was born July 7, 1957 in LaCrosse, Kansas to Donald and Dolores (Kowalsky) Petz. 

Sherry grew up in McCracken on the family farm located north of town. She attended school and graduated from McCracken High School. She attended college before returning home to farm with her mother and also started a long career at the LaCrosse Furniture Factory where she was a woodworker. 

On August 26, 2016 she married Harold Allen Witthuhn Jr. and made their home in Ellis. She enjoyed watching TV, going to Cedar Bluff and fishing in her spare time.

Sherry is survived by her husband Harold of Ellis; her mother, Dolores Petz of Via Christi Village in Hays; two brothers, Darrel (Cindy) Petz of Andover and Chris Petz (Jackie Kennedy) of McCracken; sisters-in-law, Maddy Petz of Buhler, Kansas, Patricia Petz, and Joy Petz all of McCracken; nieces, Angie (Trent) Timson, Shanda (Shane) Preston, Chelsea (Kurt) Wells, Terri (Jim) Everhart and Melissa Leiker; nephews, Kelly (Melanie) Petz, Dustin (Shelly) Petz, Chansler (Kaylyn) Petz, and Troy Petz. 

As well as her great nieces and nephews, Nathan, Nicholas, Kallyn, Kameron, Shaylin, Derick, Brooklyn, Kinsley, Rylee, Tyler, Drake, Grant, Aubrey, Ava, Preslea, Paislea, Milo, Clayton, Josh and Megan as well as a great-great niece, Ashlynn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald; brothers, Gene, Danny, Tim, and Kirby as well as a nephew, Eric Petz.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, January 11, 2025, 10:00 AM -10:45 AM with a rosary service at 11:00 AM all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
