Scharlene Dreher

Scharlene F. Dreher, age 72, of Hays, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2012 at the Rush County Nursing Home in LaCrosse, Kansas. She was born February 4, 1940 in Fairfax, Oklahoma to Frank and Mary (Harp) Stumbaugh. She married Irvin Dreher on November 10, 1956 in Plainville, KS.

She was a nurse for 23 years mostly at Hays Med. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include her husband, Irvin of Hays; a son, Neal Dreher and wife Trica of Hays; three daughters, Mary Kinderknecht of Ellis, Sharon Biles and husband John of Desoto, KS and Debbie Clark and husband Eldon of Minneapolis, KS; two sisters, Pearl MaCatee of Oregon and Julia White of California; grandchildren, Christy Mergen and husband Chris, Matt Kinderknecht, Adam Kinderknecht and wife Ashley, Josh Biles, Jeremey Biles, Stephanie Owens, Blake Dreher, Michaela Dreher, Morgan Johnson and Alex Johnson; and a niece, Vicky Crenshaw and husband Rick of Fairfax, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ollie, Troy and Tommy Stumbaugh and three sisters, Ruth Robinette, Lil Haines and Violet NcAbier.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 PM to 8 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

A Daughters of Isabella rosary service will be Sunday at 6:30 PM followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 PM all at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Elementary or TMP-Marian High School
