Obituary



Ryan LeRoy Smith, age 27, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Stormont-Vail Health in Topeka, Kansas. He was born February 25, 1994 in Smith Center, Kansas to Bryan Smith and Sherri Lee Colby.

Ryan graduated from Kingman High School in 2012. He played college baseball for Pratt Community College and Fort Hays State University. Ryan worked as an athletic trainer at Pratt and was a co-owner of a lawncare and landscaping business with his brother, Cecil. He enjoyed all sporting activities including FFA, hunting, fishing, and mentoring young children. His passion was Kansas State Football and Basketball.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Bryan Smith and Sherri Smith both of Manhattan; two brothers, Christopher Cody Smith and Cecil Howard Smith III both of Manhattan and his grandfather, Leslie "Les" Smith of Hays.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Darryl and Marilyn Colby and Elizabeth Ann Smith.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 19th & Vine Hays, Kansas. Burial will follow in Mt. Allen Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be Friday 5 PM - 8 PM with a combined parish vigil and rosary service at 7:30 PM all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

Saturday visitation will be 9 AM until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Donations may be made payable to Bryan Smith.
