Ruth Templeton

Ruth Helen Templeton, age 75, of Hays, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at Hays Medical Center. She was born June 8, 1937 in Omaha, NE. to John F. and Nora (Bischoff) Streng. She attended Beatrice, NE. Public Schools and Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. She married Robert "Bob" Templeton on December 25, 1956 in Beatrice, NE.

Ruth was employed as a Sales Clerk for Kuhns Diamond Jewelers for 37 years. She was active in various organizations including the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Smoky Hill Country Club Ladies Golf Association. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir. Ruth was a very active person enjoying family, travel, golf, movies, playing cards and especially time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bob of the home; two daughters, Laura Lechner and husband David of Wichita and Kari Beetch and husband Greg of Abilene; grandchildren Katie Thompson, Kori, Kristina, Nora and Nick Lechner all of Wichita, Justin Beetch of Salina, Chad and Travis Beetch of Abilene; two great granddaughters, Karley and Kameryn Thompson of Wichita; two brothers, Herbert W. Streng and wife Mary Lou of Daytona Beach, FL. and Rev. Erwin Streng and wife Marie of New Richmond, OH; a sister, Irene Snyder of Oshkosh, WI. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive her.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2703 Fort Hays, KS. Inurnment will be in Mt. Allen Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Brocks North Hill Chapel-2509 Vine-Hays, KS. 67601
