Rose Marie Blasing

Rose Marie Blasing, age 91, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Salem Home in Hillsboro, KS. She was born December 31, 1932, in Ellis, Kansas to Joseph L and Catherine (Jacques) Weber. She graduated from Ellis High School in 1951. She married Larry Dean Blasing on September 6, 1954, in Ellis. He preceded her in death March 8, 2008.

Rose Marie was a homemaker and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. John's Catholic Church, Herington, KS, and Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Topeka, KS.   

She is survived by sons Steve Blasing and wife Andrea of Smithville, MO; Ron Blasing and wife Janice of Albuquerque, NM; Bill Blasing and wife Gina of Wichita, KS; daughters, Becky Blasing of Grover Beach, CA; Caryl Sheahan and husband Scotty of Herington, KS; Cathy Ruark and husband Dan also of Herington, KS; and Phyllis Holle and husband Randy of Hutchinson, KS; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Joseph F. Weber, Alfred Weber and Francis Weber, and three sisters, Helen Kohl, Theresa Weber and Katherine Flagler.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00 at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Ellis, with Father Dana Clark officiating. Interment will follow the mass in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 8, 2024 from 5 PM to 7 PM with a combined parish vigil and rosary service at 7 PM all at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Ellis Chapel, 400 East 17th Street Ellis, KS 67637.
