Rosaline F. Hamel

Rosaline Frances Hamel, 74, Hays, KS went home to Heaven on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle from a stroke and cancer. She was born Aug. 10, 1940 in Munjor, KS to Victor and Irene (Burgardt) Klaus. She married Albert A. Hamel Jr on Aug. 25, 1956 in Hays, KS. Rosaline was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a senior companion for five years. She enjoyed her family, cooking, bingo, canning pickles, gardening, antiques, upholstery work and her beloved dog, Bridgie. She is survived by her husband, Albert of the home; five daughters, Charlene Taggart) (Pat) of Towanda, KS, Nin Dreiling (Bob) of Hays, KS, Julie Craig (Mark) of Wichita, KS, Brenda Dreiling (Mike) of Derby, KS and Theresa Riisoe (Glenn) of Kinsley, KS; a sister, Cindy Sheley of Ellis; 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and two on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vernie and Robert Klaus; father and mother-in-law, Albert A. and Rosa Hamel; sister-in-laws, Mary Lou Hamel and Joyce Klaus; a niece Stephanie Hamel and he beloved dog, Bridgie. Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601. Burial will follow in Ft. Hays Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 5 PM 8 PM and Saturday 9 AM until service time all at the funeral chapel. Memorials are suggested to Hospice at Hays Medical Center.
