Roman Wiesner

Roman Leo Wiesner, age 82, of Ellis, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Hays Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1931 in Ellis, KS. to Frank A. and Rose (Lattigan) Wiesner. He married Freda Marie Leiker on April 23, 1952 in Munjor, KS. Roman was a lifelong Farmer and Stockman on the family farm located North of Ellis. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the St. Marys 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He served in the National Guard. He enjoyed playing cards especially pinochle.

He is survived by his wife, Freda of Ellis; five sons, Ted Wiesner (Colleen) of Lubbock, TX; Patrick Wiesner of Lawrence, KS. currently stationed in Afghanistan serving in the US Army reserve; Mike Wiesner of Ellis; Larry Wiesner (Lynn) of St. Louis, MO; and Donnie Wiesner (Lori) of Wichita, KS, two daughters, Mona Pratt (Gary) of Stillwater, OK. And Elise Carter (Randy) of Norman, OK; a sister, Rosemary Larson of Minneapolis, MN; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jane Wiesner; a brother, Francis Wiesner and a sister, Lillian Hutchison.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 29, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Monday 9:00 A.M. 9:30 A.M. at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E.17th, Ellis.

A 4th degree Knights of Columbus rosary will be Sunday at 6:30 P.M. followed by a parish vigil at 7:00 P.M. all at the funeral home.
