Robert Klaus

Robert F. "Bob" Klaus, age 74, of Hays passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at his home. He was born June 1, 1939 in Ellis County, Kansas to Isidore and Anna (Meier) Klaus. He married Alberta (Befort) on October 9, 1961 in Antonino, Kansas.



He was a long time Heating and Air Conditioning contractor being a co-owner of K&W Heating and Air and then owner of Klaus Heating and Air. He was also employed at Fort Hays State University in the residential life department retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Schoenchen Council. He enjoyed playing cards and taking drives in the country. He was also an avid follower of the sporting activities of his daughters and granddaughter.



He is survived by his wife Alberta of Hays; two daughters, Marj and husband Tony Marcinelli of Knoxville, TN and Gwen Klaus of Hays; a sister, Lillian Jacobs and husband Gene of Hays; a sister-in-law Mary Klaus of Schoenchen; three grandchildren, Charlsie Klaus of Hays, Anthony and Joseph Marcinelli of Knoxville, TN; his dog, Macie as well as nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Julius, Lavern and Edward and three sisters, Esther Rogers, Verneda "Neats" Dorathy and Mary Alice Rupp.



Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 16th at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



Visitation will be Wednesday 5 PM - 8 PM and Thursday 9 AM - 9:30 AM all at Brock's Funeral Home 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.



A parish vigil service will be Wednesday at 6:15 PM followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at 7 PM all at the funeral home.



Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church or Donor's Choice.
