Robert J. Armbrister

Robert J. Armbrister, age 93, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society, Ellis. He was born December 10, 1930, in rural Ellis County to Fred J. and Ida (Schoenthaler) Armbrister. Robert graduated from Ellis High School and married Alma Pauline Huber on March 28, 1951, at Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis. Alma preceded him in death on December 27, 2008.

Robert was a lifelong farmer and worked in the oilfields for several years as a roughneck and driller. He also drove a School bus for Ellis public schools. Robert was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church.

He is survived by a son, Rick Armbrister and wife Susan of Salina, daughters, Dixie Armbrister of Newton, Sherry Fisher and husband Norb of Ellis and Michelle Armbrister and husband Carl of Newton; his grandchildren, Renee, Melissa, Miranda, Paul, Natalie and Trevor as well as great grandchildren, Alaina, Oliver, Evie, Vanessa, Denzel, Tyler, Tucker, Lillian, Ruby and Wyatt.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Melanie Armbrister; and his brothers, Raymond, and Clarence Armbrister.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2024, with visitation starting at 1:00 PM until service time all at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, Kansas 67637. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ellis.
