Robert "Bob" Mason

Robert 'Bob' Mason, 62, Ellis, died Sunday May 4 2014 at Hays Medical Center Hays Ks. He was born October 13 1951 in Independence KS to King and Sylvia (Kimzey) Mason. He was a 1969 graduate of McCracken High School and attended Fort Hays State University. He married Lois Berland at St Ann Catholic Church in Zurich on August 4, 1979.



Robert was employed as an educator/ counselor at USD 210 in Hugoton Ks and USD 241 in Sharon Springs, KS and served on the city council in Hugoton Ks. He was a member of the St Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. He was well known for his love of the outdoors and wildlife. Also noted for his craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and inventions.



Survivors include wife Lois, one daughter, Courtney Espinoza and husband Sylvester Espinoza, and two adored granddaughters, Sofia and Adriana Espinoza, all of Dallas Texas.



He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in law Carol Slingsby.



Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Zurich, KS.



Visitation with the family present will be Tuesday 6:00 PM 8:00 PM at Brocks Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601 with a parish vigil and rosary service at 7 PM.
