Rita Dreiling

Rita Dreiling of Hays, age 84, joined the Lord on January 1, 2012 from her home in Altera Sterling House, Hays, KS. She was born March 13, 1927 in Hays, Kansas to Joseph and Anna (Jacobs) Wiesner. She married James G. Dreiling on June 26, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1990.



Rita was a Homemaker. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Secular Franciscan Order and Altar Society and Christian Mothers.



She is survived by her 3 sons; Stephen (Diann) Dreiling, Aurora, CO; Roger (Lynn), Lawrence, KS; and David, Dallas Texas; 1 brother, Louis Wiesner, Hays, KS; 2 sisters; Millie Howe, St. Louis and Anita O'Neil, Olney, MD; 6 grandchildren: Jason (Christy) Dreiling, Overland Park, KS; Maria (Michael) Maciejewski, Aurora, CO; James Dreiling, Brooklyn, NY; John Dreiling, Fairbanks, AK; Allison Dreiling, Overland Park, KS; Todd Dreiling, Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by 7 step-grandchildren; Mike Reever, Olathe, Dale Reever, Bonner Springs, Traci Burney (Jim), Olathe, Marci Handley (Steve), Kansas City, KS, Jami Reever (Kim Simons), Emporia, KS, Kyle Reever (Heather), Olathe, KS, TJ Reever (Kristi), Overland Park, KS and 14 step-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons, Christopher J. Dreiling and Stanley J. Dreiling; and 2 brothers, Charles Wiesner and Thomas Wiesner.



Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, Jan. 6th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.



Visitation will be Thursday 5 PM - 8 PM and Friday 9 AM - 9:30 AM all at Brock's Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601.



A Secular Franciscan Order Memorial Service will be at 5:30 PM Thursday followed by a Altar Society & Christian Mothers rosary service at 5:45 PM. A parish vigil service will be at 6:30 PM all at the funeral chapel.



Contributions are suggested to the St. Thomas More Society to be designated for TMP-Marian Junior High.
