Richard Staab

Richard G. Staab, age 83, of Plainville, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at Hays Medical center. He was born February 19, 1928 in Catharine, KS. to Albert J. and Ida (Weisner) Staab. He had been a truck driver. He was a Merchant Marine veteran and a member of the Deer Trail, CO. Knights of Columbus.He is survived by five brothers, Bob (Alice) Staab of Hays, Paul Staab of Thornton, CO., Frank (Irma) Staab of Colorado Springs, CO., Norman (Barbara) Staab of Tucson, AZ. and Joe Staab of Deer Trail, CO. and a sister, Rita Billinger of Hays. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Albert W. Staab and Fred "Buddy" Staab and a sister, Eileen Bollig.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Catharine, KS. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery.Visitation will be Tuesday 4 PM - 8 PM at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601. A rosary service will be Tuesday at 6:30 PM followed by a parish vigil at 7 PM all at the funeral home.Memorials are suggested to Hospice at Hays Medical Center.
