Raymond Ralph Schaus

Raymond Ralph Schaus, age 86, of Ellis, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society of Ellis. He was born on June 24, 1925 in Ellis to John and Wilhelmina (Wendtling) Schaus. He was a graduate of Ellis High School.



He was a US Air Force Veteran serving in Korea and Vietnam. He attained the rank of Staff SGT. and he received a Bronze Star during his military service. After his military career ended he worked for Hawker - Beechcraft in Wichita where he retired. He moved to Good Samaritan Society of Ellis in 2003.



He is survived by two sisters, Caroline Schumm of Ellis and Henrietta "Chris" Hansen of Portland, Or.



He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edgar and Willie Schaus; four sisters, Edna Ptaschek, Freda Bollig, Lena Bollig and Edith Hughes. He was also preceded in death by 3 wives.



Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in WaKeeney. Arrangements in care of Keithley Funeral Chapel ~ 400 E. 17th. ~ Ellis, KS. 67637.
