Obituary



Phyllis Lorraine (Meyer) Gugler, age 90, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Friday, July 30, 2021 in Ellis. She was born September 25, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Edwin and Catherine (Blesch) Meyer. On February 12, 1955 she married Loren Arthur Gugler in Chicago. He preceded her in death July 26, 2012.

Phyllis was a farm wife and was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary and PEO Chapter FO all in Ellis. She enjoyed Gardening, Bowling, Cross Stitching, Needlepoint and cooking Fried Chicken during Harvest.

She is survived by a son, Doug Gugler and wife Ann of Ellis; two grandsons, Scott Gugler and Tanner Gugler and wife Carlyne all of Ellis and a great grandson, Joseph Scott Gugler of Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Ralph Gugler; a daughter, Marcy Gugler; a grandson, Anthony Gugler and her sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Charles Klingler.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 7, 2021at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ellis.

Visitation will be Friday 6 PM 7 PM with a parish vigil and rosary at 7 PM all at St. Marys Church.
