Patricia Anita (Kutina) Patee, age 62, of Ellis, passed away Friday, April 15th at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. She was born on June 10, 1948 in Ellis County, Kansas to Raymond and Mildred (Henrickson) Kutina. She graduated from Ellis High School in 1966. She married Elvin Leroy Patee on July 30, 1966 in Ellis at the United Methodist Church. Patricia was a homemaker and had driven a school bus in Ellis. She enjoyed crafting, making wedding cakes, flower arrangements and especially quilting. She had been a board member for several years for the Ellis Jr. Free Fair. She was a member of the Ellis Alumni Association and the Ellis VFW Auxiliary. In 1974, while living in Colorado, she was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease. For the past 37 years she has been courageously undergoing Hemodialysis, which was done in the home. Patricia has been recognized as a record setting patient for the 37 years of home dialysis. Patty is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Terry Patee and wife Dena of Ellis; two grandsons, Ty and Trace Patee of Ellis; a brother, Douglas and wife Mandy of McPherson; four sisters, Viola Burns, Ramona (Bill) North all of Ellis, Cecilia (David) Everson of Allenspark, CO., and Carla Dreiling of Hays.She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Ralph Burns Jr. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Ellis United Methodist Church. Burial will follow services at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ellis. Visitation will be Monday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS. 67637. Tuesday visitation will be at the church at 9:30 A.M. until service time. Contributions are suggested to the American Kidney Foundation or the Ellis United Methodist Church.
