Patricia J. Dean

Patricia "Patti" J. (Pfeifer) Dean, 72, of Hays, KS, peacefully passed away with her son, Jeff, and family by her side on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Via Christi Village, Hays, KS. She was born on March 4, 1952, at the family farm in Ellis, KS. She is the daughter of Albert J. and Irene C. (Haas) Pfeifer. 

Patricia was a graduate of Marian High School and Fort Hays State University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She attended Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, MO, where she earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, she devoted her career to caring for individuals with psychiatric disorders at the Nevada Habilitation Center, Nevada, MO. After 28 years, and upon the passing of her parents, Patricia made the decision to take early retirement and return to Hays, KS to become a caregiver for her sister, Denise. Patricia was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Hays, KS. 

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey M. Dean of Fayetteville, AR, her siblings Karen, Norman, Kenneth, Charles, Galen, Jolene, Denise, Beverly, and Stephanie, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Maurice "Mory" Pfeifer. 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, July 31, 2024 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays. 

Memorial visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
