Obituary
Otto Elias Wagoner, age 90 died Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society Ellis. He was born January 22, 1931, on the farm southwest of Ellis along the Smoky Hill River to Grant, H.G. and Rose (Colborg) Wagoner.
He went to a one room country school for 8 years, Maple Grove, District No.: 47, Trego County. After that he worked with his dad on the farm. He married Constance (Connie) M. Coker on April 28, 1962, to which one daughter, Gerri, was born. They moved to Ellis in 1974 and he went to work for Charlie Crow on cable tools working over and completing oil wells for 5 years, he then went to work for Rains & Williamson Oil Company on a pulling unit and completed a lot of oil and gas wells, then went to work pumping oil wells until he retired in 1993 due to knee joint replacement. He then worked part time at the Ellis Railroad Museum for 21 years, starting in May 1995.
Survivors are one beloved daughter, Gerri Truan of Russell; and one beloved grandson, Nevin Truan of Gorham; and Sister-in-Law, Arlene Cline of WaKeeney.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; an infant son from his first marriage, Otto Elias, Jr., 07/13/1955 to 07/19/1955, and his Sister, Esther Littlechild.
Graveside services will be Friday, January 28, 2022, at 2 PM in the WaKeeney City Cemetery, 498 South 12th Street WaKeeney, KS 67672.
Memorials are suggested to the Ellis Railroad Museum. Checks made payable to the organization may be sent in care of Keithley Funeral Homes, PO Box 86 Hays, KS 67601.
