Michael Weigel

Michael Lee Weigel, age 54, of Pfeifer, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his home. He was born March 26, 1958 in Hays, Kansas to Robert L. and Anna Marie (Schmidt) Weigel. He graduated from TMP-Marian High School in 1976. He was a US Navy veteran.

He worked at Larned State Hospital in patient care. He was an avid animal lover with a special fondness for dogs.

He is survived by a brother, Bob Weigel and wife Cindy of Hays; two sisters, Marilyn Dreher and husband Randy of Hays and Carolyn Jones and husband Derryck of San Diego, CA; three nephews, Brandon Weigel and wife Michelle of Hays, Matthew Dreher and fianc Julie Gutierrez of Mountain House, CA. and Tyler Dreher of Coppell, TX., a niece, Ashley Weigel of South Fork, CO. and a great niece, Emma Weigel of Hays.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. at Brocks North Hill Chapel 2509 vine Hays, KS. 67601.

A rosary service will be Thursday at 6:30 P.M. followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 P.M. all at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of the High Plains.
