Michael R. Grabbe

Michael R. Grabbe, age 58, of Hays, Kansas, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 16th, 2017 at home. He was born on November 17, 1958 in Hays, the son of Richard and Alta (Roth) Grabbe. He graduated high school from Thomas More Prep in Hays, and from Fort Hays State University in 1981. After graduating, he married Debbie (Strange) on May 23rd, 1981.

Through his hard work and dedication, he expanded Grabbe Farms, the family farming and ranching operation. Mike was a livestock order buyer, and a member of the Kansas Livestock Association and National Cattleman's Beef Association.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Grabbe of Hays; his two sons, Matthew (Jennifer) Grabbe and John (Julie) Grabbe; three grandsons, Wyatt, Mark and Jackson Grabbe all of Schoenchen; his mother Alta Grabbe of Hays, and sister Anne (Brian) Lang of Hays.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Grabbe of Hays.

Funeral will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 22, 2017 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Schoenchen, Kansas with a luncheon to follow at the Schoenchen Community Center. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM with a combined rosary and parish vigil service at 6:45 PM all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine St. in Hays.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Michael R. Grabbe to Fort Hays Foundation in support of the Agricultural Business program.
