Michael A. Cure

Michael Anthony Cure, age 37, of Hays, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Kansas University Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1978 in Jetmore, Kansas to Anthony and Bonnie (Lee) Cure. He graduated from Hanston High School in 1997 and then attended Dodge City Community College and Fort Hays State University. He married Jaclyn Marie Leiker May 2, 2009 at Celebration Community Church in Hays.

Michael had worked as a Golf Course Superintendent at Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course, on staff at Smoky Hill Country Club and as a Sales Professional at Lewis Automotive. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays. He enjoyed outdoor activities including golf and hunting but especially deer hunting. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching KU, Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR. Most of all he enjoyed his time with his wife and children.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jaclyn Cure; son, Drew Cure; daughter, Chloe Cure all of Hays; his parents, Anthony and Bonnie Cure of Hanston; two brothers, Scott Cure and wife Mindy of Hanston and Jamie Cure and wife Staci of Ingalls, Kansas; In-laws, Ernie and Sandy Leiker of Hays; brothers-in law, James Leiker and wife Taryn of Hays and Curtis Leiker and wife Jenny of Bel Aire, Kansas and a sister-in-law, Cindy Matter and husband Bobby of Hays as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Johanna Cure and Ray and Stella Lee.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays.

Burial will be at 2:30 PM Tuesday in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Hanston, Kansas

Visitation will be Monday 4 PM - 8 PM and Tuesday 9 AM 9:30 AM all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

A combined rosary and vigil service will be 7 PM Monday at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Drew and Chloe Cure education fund.
