Mary Jane (Weigel) Thorpe - age 68, of Olathe, Kansas, died Friday, March 20, 2020, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas. She was born September 14, 1951, in Hays Kansas, to Harold V. and Mary (Scheck) Weigel.

She was a cost accounting manager for 15 years at Smoot/Magnum Systems, and retired in 2013. She grew up in Victoria, Kansas, and was a 1969 salutatorian graduate of Victoria, Kansas. She lived in Hays then moved to Olathe in 1987, and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe.

Survivors include one son, Cory Bieker, Olathe, KS; one daughter, Jennifer Kamin, Olathe, KS; one brother, Francis Weigel and wife, Beth, Houston, TX; one sister, Joyce Jacobs and husband, Tim, Olathe, KS; four grandchildren; Cameron Bieker, Jaedyn Kamin, Mackenzie Meinhardt and Macie Meinhardt.

She was in death by her parents and one daughter, Cheryl Ann Bieker.

The family suggests memorials to the Prince of Peace Catholic School in care of Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

Due to the COVID-19 virus the Diocese of Salina has canceled all Masses of Christian Burials until further notice. Funeral services and a family inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.
