Marillyn Knowles

Obituary



Marillyn Knowles, age 91, of Hays passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Homestead of Hays, Hays, Kansas. She was born October 3, 1929, in Powhattan, Kansas, to Lyall and Alice (Congdon) Crane. She graduated from Powhattan High School and moved to Hays where she met her husband Rupert Knowles. She married Rupert on November 25, 1949.

Marillyn was an LPN and worked in the healthcare industry in Hays and Wichita, Kansas before she and Rupert retired to Hays.

She is survived by two sisters Evelyn Davis and Susie Bearce of Hiawatha, Kansas; and her four children: two sons, Larry Knowles and wife Michelle (Hull) of Hays and Ron Knowles and wife Michelle (Weaver) of Missoula, Montana; two daughters, Patricia Chase and husband Clint of International Falls, Minnesota, and Mary Knowles of Westwood, Kansas; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Mike.
