Margie Robben

Margie Lorraine Robben, age 86 of Gorham, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at Hays Medical Center. She was born February 12, 1925 in Montrose, CO. to James M. and Carrieane (Hickock) Lipes. She married Eugene Robben on April 26, 1945 in Riverside, CA.She was a cook at St. Mary's Grade School in Gorham, clerked at JC Penney's in Russell and managed a fabric store in Russell. She was a member of the American Legion Aux. in Russell for 41 years, a member of the VFW Ladies Aux. of Russell, bowled in Russell for 40 years, she enjoyed fishing and camping and was an avid machine knitter. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gorham for 65 years.She is survived by her husband of the home, her children, Eugene W. Robben Jr. of Topeka, Kathleen Sewell of Gorham, Michael Robben of Wichita, Gail Wade of Denton, TX. and Scott Robben of Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Marie Donaldson and Helen Jaramillo of California and Roselee Proctor of Washington. 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 2 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.Her parents; three brothers, James, Kenneth and Alton and a sister Virginia Bartling preceded her in death.Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements in care of Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601.Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gorham and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
