Margaret Mohney

Margaret A. Mohney, age 90, of Ellis, passed away February 11, 2013 at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney. She was born on May 9, 1922 in Ellis, Kansas to Adam and Minnie (Homburg) Massier. She graduated from Ellis High School in 1940 and attended business college in Topeka. She married Norman Mohney on October 1, 1943 in McAllen, TX. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1990.

She worked for Kansas Power and Light Co. in Topeka until her retirement. After her retirement in she moved to Ellis in 1989.

Survivors include a sister, Lena Hagen of Ellis; three nephews, Garnis Hagen and wife Susan of Santa Fe, N.M., Eugene Massier of Ellis and Delwin Massier of Hays and a niece, Janice McFather and husband Dave of Canyon, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ernest and Edward Massier and a brother-in-law, William Hagen.

Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Saturday, February 16, 2012 at Keithley Funeral Chapel-400 E. 17th street-Ellis, KS 67637. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ellis.

Visitation will be Friday 5:30 P.M. 7:30 P.M. and Saturday 2:30 P.M. until service time all at the funeral home.
