Obituary



Margaret Mickelson, age 89 of Ellis, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society, Ellis. She was born February 14, 1931 in Hays, Kansas to Ralph and Eunice (Cockrell) Loflin. She graduated from Ellis High School in 1948 and on May 30, 1948 she married Ralph Mickelson.

Margaret was a homemaker and cake baker. She was a member of the Ellis United Methodist Church, the ESA Sorority. She was an avid horsewoman and enjoyed competitive trail riding.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Zerfas and husband Terry of Hays and Norleen Knoll and husband John of Hays; her sisters, Marilyn Waldschmidt of Fruita, CO, Lois Ryff of Hutchinson, KS, Edna Hansen of Ellis, KS, Helen Johnson of Hobbs, NM; eight grandchildren, Zach, Sara, Joe, Mike, Lynn, Lisa, Blaine and Doug as well as 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Ralph, a son, Norman Mickelson, a granddaughter, Denise Mickelson; a brother, Norman Loflin

Private family services will be held with a public celebration of life service to be scheduled at a later date.
