Obituary



Margaret Christine (Johnson) Boschowitzki, age 91, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society, Hays. She was born March the 8, 1928 on the kitchen table at the family farm at Yocemento, Kansas to Sophus and Bertha (Brown) Johnson. On July 4, 1964 she married Reinhold Boschowitzki in the Congregational Church in Ellis. He preceded her in death on December the 22, 2010.

Margaret was a nanny early on helping when her siblings had babies taking care of the older nieces and nephews. She loved babies and was an LPN for 44 1/2 years at St. Anthony Hospital until she retired in September of 1992 . Most of those years were spent working in the OB Department taking care of several generations of babies. She was also a farmer alongside her husband Reinhold.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Herl and husband AJ of Ogallah, Kansas; her grandchildren, Jared Herl of Jetmore , Katelyn and Ryan Herl of Ogallah; brother-in-law, Sam Higgins of Midland, Michigan as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Charles and John Johnson and her sisters, Alice Fleming and her twin sister Mary Higgins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 5th at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E 17th Ellis, KS 67637. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ellis.

Visitation will be Wednesday 10:00 AM until service time.

Memorials are suggested to be used according to the wishes of the family.
