Lois Ann Nash, age 86, a resident of Hays, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society in Ellis while the song “Show Me The Way To Go Home “was playing on the radio.
Lois was born on June 22, 1937, in Hays, to Lou J. and Edna Caroline (Zachman) Armbruster. She was a cherished member of her community and leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Lois's life was marked by her commitment to care and service. She married Albert Nash and shared a fulfilling life with him until his passing in 2009. Her professional journey as a registered nurse took her to various places, including a medical clinic in Seattle and Wesley Hospital in Wichita. She dedicated her skills to helping those in need and making a positive impact on their lives.
Beyond her professional achievements, Lois was an active and enthusiastic participant in her community. She found joy in contributing her time and efforts to the Hays Medical Center Volunteer Services, where her compassionate nature shone brightly. Her involvement in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hays was a testament to her strong faith and her desire to connect with others through shared beliefs.
Lois had a zest for life that was evident in her hobbies and interests. An avid walker, she embraced the outdoors and found solace in the simple act of walking. She took great pride in her yard, cultivating a beautiful space that brought joy to both herself and those around her. Her dedication to her yard work was a reflection of her meticulous and caring personality.
Survived by her siblings, Mary Lou Walters of Hays, Virginia Loflin of Ellis, Ron Armbruster and wife Janet of Ellis, and Paul Armbruster and wife Mary Lou of Thornton, Colorado, Lois was a cherished sister and aunt. Her love extended to her nieces and nephews, as she held a special place in her heart for each of them. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, and two infant sisters, Geraldine and Marlaine.
Funeral services to honor Lois's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the Keithley Funeral Chapel located at 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS 67637. Following the services, Lois will be laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ellis.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation period on Tuesday, starting at 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
