Linlie James Turner, age 85, of Ellis, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2011 at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center. He was born on February 26, 1925 in Thornfield, MO. to Alfred and Rose Turner. He married Mildred Lorene Johnson in 1948 in Missouri. Linlie moved to St. John, KS. after marriage to work for a tractor implement company. He moved to Ellis in 1959 to begin working with Shirk Well Service as a pulling unit operator. In 1980 he moved to El Dorado, KS. to continue working in the oilfields. He retired in 1999 and moved back to Ellis. He is survived by a son, Allen Turner and special friend Tammy Campbell of Troy, KS; a daughter, Kathy Wickham and husband Danny of Ellis; two brothers, Coy and Leslie of Ava, MO; a sister, Viola Clark of Olympia, Washington; 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred in 2002, infant daughter, Beverly June, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.Contributions are suggested to Ellis Good Samaritan Center or Trego Lemke memorial Hospital.
