Lester Dean Chapman, age 80, of Hoxie, passed away Monday, January 10th at the Sheridan County Health Complex Long Term Care Unit in Hoxie. He was born on December 27, 1930 in Quinter, KS. to Lea and Lula Bell (Cunningham) Chapman. He married Maevis M. Bangert of Denver, CO. on September 21, 1953 in Denver.He was a farmer, Veteran of the US Army serving in Korea and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hoxie. He was an Avid hunter and outdoorsman.Lester is survived by his wife, Maevis of Hoxie; a son, Kris Chapman and wife Doris of Lyons, CO; three daughters, Sheryl Taylor and husband David of Hoxie, Shelley Pruett and husband Tom of Colby and Sheila Fenno and husband George of Brooksville, FL; a sister, Velma Gillespie of Quinter, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 daughters from a previous marriage, Sue, Jeanette and Kathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hoxie. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.Memorials are suggested to the church or donor's choice.
