Lee Grubb Simpson, age 76 of Hays, Kansas and formerly of Austin Texas passed away at home from renal disease complications on March 18, 2013. Lee was born July 12, 1936 in Ellsworth County Kansas to Roy and Evelyn (Mog) Grubb. She graduated from Hays High School in 1954 where she enjoyed an active student life as a friend to all, a cheerleader, a member of the band, and a member of the yearbook staff.
She moved to Austin Texas with her family in 1969 where she completed a very successful career in 2004 as an entrepreneur, serving in the Austin business community as an independent accountant and as a real estate developer. She was a proud advocate for disadvantaged children serving as a CASA volunteer for the Travis County Judicial System. She will always be remembered as a selfless provider and a generous giver.
Lee is survived by, both of her children, Doug Simpson and Cynthia Simpson; her sister, Royalan Grubb Leiker of Hays Kansas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her their father, mother and brother, Elvin 'Sonny' Grubb.
Private family services will be at a later date with inurnment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays.
