Larry Putz

Larry Putz, age 67, of Hays, passed away Tuesday, March 8th at his home in Hays. He was born on November 16, 1943 north of Mullinville, KS. on his grandpa Zimmerman's farm to June McDonald. He graduated from Greensburg high School in 1961.Larry Was a Body Mechanic working at Harper Body Shop, Schaffer Body Shop and Auto Collision Specialists during his career. He was a lifelong automobile enthusiast enjoying Drag Racing and restoring classic cars. Another passion of Larry's was building model trains and tracks.Larry is survived by two daughters, Lisa Mortensen and husband Eric of Hays and Christine Roberts of Hutchinson; a son, Richard Putz of Hays; four grandchildren, Kyle Mortensen, Tiffany Putz, Amanda Roberts and Derrick Hulen. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, Kylie, Kelsie, Cale, Ashton and Hailie. He was preceded in death by his mother, June McDonald; his wife, Carolyn Putz; a son, David Putz and a great grandson, Marshall Putz.A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 12th at Brock's North Hill Chapel Funeral Home 2509 Vine - Hays, Ks. 67601. Private family burial at a later date.Visitation will be Friday 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and Saturday 9:00 A.M. until service time all at the funeral home.Memorials are suggested to the Western Plains Animal Refuge or the Cancer Council of Ellis County.
