Kurt J. Stecklein

 Kurt Joseph Stecklein, age 47, passed away on September 2, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born December 15, 1976, in Hays, Kansas to Dale Stecklein and Stephanie (Zimmerman) Stecklein.

He was baptized in the catholic faith, and was raised in Hays. Kurt will be remembered by his larger-than-life personality, always ready for adventure. His mischievous sense of humor is always ready to make you laugh.

He had a deep love for music, especially the [Grateful Dead]. His unwavering appetite for both food and life. Kurt’s honesty, though unfiltered, always came from a place of genuine care, and above all, he was known for his remarkable generosity and steadfast loyalty to those he loved. He took great pride in. his strong Volga German heritage and his upbringing in the Catholic faith.

Kurt is survived by his son, Stelley Myers; his significant other, Stephine King; his mother, Stephanie Stecklein; his Dad, Ron Zimmerman; his sisters, Kristen Stecklein; Tara Stecklein; his step brothers, Travis Zimmerman and wife, Alana; Eric Zimmerman and wife, Stacie; Shawn Zimmerman and wife, Amber.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Stecklein, his grandparents Wayne and Arlene Zimmerman; and Fidelis and Susan Stecklein;

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at

Cline’s Keithley Mortuary of Hays, Hays, Kansas with Father Fred Gatschet, officiating.

Inurnment will follow in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Munjor, Kansas

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. and a family rosary at 10:15 A.M. all at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.
