Kenneth Speier

Kenneth Ralph Speier, age 62, of Hays, passed away Friday, January 7th in Hays. He was born on May 1, 1948 in Hays, Kansas to Ralph and Loraine (Wasinger) Speier. He was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy and Salina Vo-Tech in 1971 with a refrigeration certificate.He owned Speier and Company, which was a plumbing, heating and air conditioning company in Hays for 15years. He was currently working for Glassman Corporation as the sheet metal shop foreman. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam and he was a lifetime member of the Hays VFW.Kenneth is survived by a son, Eric Speier and wife Tasha of Manhattan; three daughters, Jill Speier and Anne Speier both of Manhattan and Michaela Bellinder and husband Alex of Wamego; a brother, Ron Speier of Hays; a sister, Mary Beth Dreiling of Hays. Two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Shawn Speier of Manhattan, also survive him.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Speier.Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Brock's North Hill Chapel ~ 2509 Vine ~ Hays, KS. 67601. Internment will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Military honor guard by the Hays VFW.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Monday and from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Tuesday all at Brock's North Hill Chapel.Memorials are suggested to Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
