Obituary
Karen Kay Wishnuck, age 63 of Medicine Lodge KS, passed away, Saturday, February 13th at Hays Medical Center. She was born November 14, 1957 in Hays, KS to Joseph F and Lillian M (Kinderknecht) Wishnuck.
Karen attended St. Marys Grade School and graduated from Ellis High School in 1975. She worked as a waitress and short order cook at Alloways Restaurant. While working there she was known for her generous portions of food she would serve and also for her incredibly tasty cinnamon rolls. She also worked as a CNA and a private duty assistant for nearly 30 years.
She is survived by her sisters, Diane (Mark) Boos of Ellis, Darlene Gottstine, of Wichita, Lenora (Tom) Staab of Hays, Vera (Lynn) Kinderknecht of Hays, Tammy Shelton of Harrison Arkansas, as well as a brother Joe (Dixie) Wishnuck of Norman Oklahoma, her long time companion, Chris Gronman, and her beloved fur baby, Pippin. She has countless nieces and nephews, all of which she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sister Karla, niece Nicole Morgan and a nephew, Lonnie Boos.
Due to the continuing pandemic a small visitation for friends is scheduled for Saturday from 10:00am to 11:00am with a private service for family from-11:00am to 1:00pm at Brocks Keithley funeral chapel 2509 Vine in Hays and a private burial in The Ellis Cemetery, masks are required for entry.
Special thanks to her care taker Kelsey in Medicine Lodge, all of the Doctors, nurses, and hospice workers at HMC. Thank you for giving all you had and making her final days here like friends she didnt know she had. May you all be BLESSED!
