Justin Basgall

Justin Joseph Basgall age 42, of Hays, Kansas passed away at his home on Saturday, August 17, 2024. He was born June 21, 1982, in Hays, Kansas to Chad W. Basgall and Mary Loree Acheson. He married Nicolene (VanSittert) and they later separated.

He was working for Ellis County as a Noxious Weed Agent for the last two years, and he spent six years in Public Works for the City of Rose Hill, and City of Augusta, Kansas. He grew up in Rose Hill, was a graduate of Rose Hill High School, and later moved to Hays.

Justin enjoyed the Raiders, hunting, country cruise, Lake Wilson, fishing and boating, geology, sunsets, fire pits, BBQ and red beer. He loved hanging out with his friends, his niece and nephew, and karaoking family traditions.

Justin is survived by his mother, Mary Acheson, Rose Hill, KS; his brother, Aaron Basgall and wife, Tabitha, Rose Hill, KS; his niece and nephew, Sabrina and Logan Basgall, his uncles, Carl Acheson and wife, Cindy, Palco, KS; Roy Acheson, Palco, KS; Bill Pawley, New Zealand; Stan Basgall and wife, Becky, Hays, KS; Neal Basgall and wife, Ha, Arlington, TX; his aunt, Christine Basgall, Waterloo, NE. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Chad Basgall; his grandparents, Edgar J. “Eddie” and Lillian (Roth) Basgall; LeVern and Loree (Wilds) Acheson; his uncle, Charles Acheson; and his aunt, Melva Lee Pawley. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held by his family at a later date.

Services are entrusted to Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
