Julian R. Huser

Julian R. Huser, 81, Vincent, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Hays Medical Center. He was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Vincent to Henry M. and Catherine (Dechant) Huser. He was a graduate of Victoria High School. He married Norma Gabel on Aug. 25, 1956, in Munjor.

He was a farmer, carpenter and retired from S&W Supply. He served in the Kansas National Guard. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Vincent, Third Degree and Fourth Degree Assembly Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his motorcycle, car races in his early years and he was an avid Chiefs fan. He enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Bryan Huser and wife, Cindy, Hays; four daughters, Rebecca Kahler and husband, JR, Kansas City, Mo., Beverly Brungardt and husband, Keith ,Vincent, Bonita Philip and husband, Robert, Munjor, and Bernadette Fischer and husband, Jim, Overland Park; a brother, Leon Huser, Vincent; four sisters, Armella Riedel-Schmidt and Stella Braun, both of Hays, Henrietta Herl, Salina, and Arlene Wittman and husband, Warren, Victoria; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl Huser and Gregory Huser; an infant brother, Julian Huser; two sisters, Lenora Rajewski-Thomas and Maxiline Kisner; an infant sister, Mary Huser; a step-sister, Katherine Mermis; and a granddaughter, Jessica Staab.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria; burial in St. Boniface Cemetery, Vincent.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Cline's-Keithley Mortuary in Hays and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday the basilica.

A Victoria Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, a vigil at 7 p.m., a Knights of Columbus Third and Fourth Degree rosary at 7:30 p.m., all at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601. The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic Church or Capuchin Province of Mid-America in care of the mortuary.
