Obituary



Joyce Elaine Maley, age 72, of Hays, Kansas, passed away on August 28, 2021, at Hays Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on September 23, 1948, in Norton, Kansas to Willard and Veda (Boland) Maley. She grew up in Edmond, Kansas and graduated from Lenora High School in the class of 1966. She lived most of her life in Norton, Kansas and later moved to Hays.

Joyce loved spending time with her family, going to garage sales, attending local dirt track races, talking on the phone, as well as chatting and drinking beer with friends.

She is survived by her mother, Veda, Hays; sisters Lanny Maley, Jolene Maley, both of Hays; and Janice Maley, Plainville; brothers James (Marilyn) Phillipsburg; Jerry, Roseburg, OR; Jan, Norton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed and forever in her familys hearts.

She is preceded in death by her son Tony Maley, father, sister Judy Kay Anderson, maternal and paternal grandparents.

Graveside services will be held September 11, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Almena, Kansas.
