Obituary
Joseph Anthony "Joe" Brungardt - age 56, of Victoria, Kansas died Sunday, November 29, 2020, at his home in Victoria, Kansas. He was born June 13, 1964, at Hays, Kansas to Dr. Joseph Balthaser Brungardt OD and Margaret Ann (Burton).
He owned and operated the Sand Plum Lodge and the Sand Plum Nature Trail both in Victoria. He also worker for The Basilica of St. Fidelis as a maintenance worker for 10 years. He was engaged in farming until 2005. He worked in Wichita, Kansas in the aircraft industry for a few years before returning home to Victoria. He was a 1982 graduate of Victoria High School and a1987 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Education. He was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis and Victoria Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Ann Brungardt, of the home; Charles Brungardt, of the home; Dan Brungardt and wife, Janet, Benton, KS; Al Brungardt and wife, Brenda, Augusta, KS; three sisters, Julie Weber and husband, Mitch, Hays, KS; Laurie Fajardo and husband, John, Augusta, KS; Sister Mary Elizabeth Brungardt C.P., Ellisville, MO: and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Joseph Balthaser Brungardt OD and an infant sister, Catherine Mary Brungardt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 4, 2020, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas. Burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.
A vigil service and a Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 6:30 P.M. Thursday, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, and from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Basilica of St. Fidelis in care of the mortuary.
