Jose Guadalupe Cubillo Flores

Jose Guadalupe Cubillo Flores, affectionately known as "Willow," passed away on September 12, 2023, in Hays, Kansas, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 44 years old. Willow was born on January 31, 1979, in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico, to loving parents Pedro Cubillo Rizo and Rosa Flores Zambrano.

Willow was a remarkable soul known for his fun-loving spirit and unwavering passion for sports, particularly his beloved Denver Broncos. He brightened the lives of those around him and will be fondly remembered as the "Big Guy with all the pens" during his time as a server at Jalisco's Mexican Restaurant in Hays.

He is survived by his parents, Pedro Cubillo Rizo and Rosa Flores Zambrano; his long-time girlfriend, Olimpia Moreno of Hays; his sons, Jose, Alex, and Nicholas Pershall Cubillo; a daughter, Sadie Pershall Cubillo; a brother, Fili Cubillo, and wife Julie of Hays; three sisters, Patricia Cubillo and husband Juan, Rosa Cubillo Flores and husband Ruben, and Maria Cubillo Corbett and husband Keeven, all of Hays.

Funeral services to celebrate Willow's life will be held at 10 AM on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays, Kansas. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Visitation hours are scheduled for Thursday from 5 PM to 11 PM at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel, located at 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
